SHORT HISTORY OF THESE STEYR-PUCH’S:
1972: Development of a new type of off-road vehicle — one that will excel both in the toughest terrain and yet provide the comfort and safety engineering for which Mercedes-Benz is known — begins in a cooperative agreement between Daimler-Benz and Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Graz, Austria. Mercedes-Benz engineers in Stuttgart focus on the design and testing of the new vehicle, while the team in Graz develops the production plans.
1979: Production of the “G Model” begins in Graz.
The vehicle’s backbone was a box frame with enclosed side members and cross-members, ensuring exceptional flexural and torsional strength. The frame carried robust, rigid axles with large coil springs and a long spring travel – an advantage in off-road operations. With a climbing ability of up to 80 per cent, a tilt angle of up to 54 per cent, a 21-centimetre ground clearance and angles of approach and departure of 36 and 27 degrees respectively, the G-Class impeccably mastered even the most difficult off-road stretches. At the same time the chassis ensured safe and comfortable handling characteristics on the road.
This 461 type features selectable four-wheel drive with differential locks at the rear axle. Other standard features are a five-speed manual transmission and a 96 liter fuel tank.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE RE-BUILD INTO AN OFF-ROAD TRAVEL/EXPEDITION VEHICLE:

Hallo Pier,
ich habe gerade gesehen, dass Sie wieder eine eigene Firma haben. Ich wünsche Ihnen
viel Erfolg.
Bauen die Nachbarn auch noch die kleine Kabine?
Gruß
Henry
Hallo Henry
Thanks, my old company like the bigger trucks more, easier to build the smaller ones
Sorry, but don’t know for sure who you are, excuses for this.
Did we talk about a hilux some years ago?
Gr Pier
Henry

Hi, great work on the 2 Puchs. I own a Swiss army Puch 230 GE. Could you tell me approximately how much I would have to spend to get you to build me a cabin like this on top of my Puch? What would be the minimum amount? Thanks
